People Are Roasting Donald Trump For Not Knowing What He's President Of

It seems as if everyone but the commander in chief remembers that he's actually the president of the island.

President Donald Trump arrives to speak to the 2017 Value Voters Summit, at which he said: 'I went to Puerto Rico, and I met with the President of the Virgin Islands.

Trump is the first sitting president to speak before the Values Voter Summit, a gathering of Christian conservatives and said he would be there for all affected US citizens, who he insisted were "healing".

"I just want to thank everybody, the first responders, on behalf of myself, our Vice President-Melania really wanted to be with us", Trump said, apparently forgetting that the First Lady was standing roughly six inches to his left.

Trump is the president of the U.S. Virgin Islands. These are people that are incredible people, they've suffered greatly. They're a United States territory. The island does have a governor, Kenneth Mapp, whom Trump met with earlier this month. It is one of the five inhabited United States territories along with Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands.

The official White House transcript of the speech has the word "president" crossed out and the word "governor" in brackets following it, CNN reports. Unlike Trump's gaffe, though, Perry apologized and corrected himself.

Trump, speaking Friday, promised his help for regions pulverized by a marathon of tropical storms - a day in the wake of taking note of government alleviation endeavors can't remain in Puerto Rico "until the end of time".
