The NFLPA was quick to respond on Friday, filing a petition for a rehearing.

The NFL immediately reinstated Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott's six-game domestic violence suspension on Thursday after the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel in New Orleans court granted the NFL's emergency request to dismiss that injunction that Elliott had been playing under.

"This is a desperate Hail Mary to keep this case in Texas, if it happens it's the play of the season for Ezekiel Elliott's lawyers", said CBS Sports Radio Legal Analyst Amy Dash.

Per the report, U.S. District Judge Amos Mazzant III will not lift the injunction until the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals makes a ruling on the injunction.

Fantasy Impact Until a petition for rehearing is filed and resolved, Elliott will remain eligible to play.

Inflation weighs on yields, dollar; stocks lackluster
The most active gold contract for December delivery went up 8.10 dollars, or 0.62 percent, to close at 1,304.60 dollars per ounce. The pan-European FTSEurofirst 300 index rose 0.01 percent and MSCI's gauge of stocks across the globe gained 0.04 percent.

It's unclear when the court might address Elliott's latest petition.

The NFL ratified its policy, which calls for an automatic six-game suspension for first-time offenders, in December 2014 following high-profile controversies involving Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson and Greg Hardy.

Should the court decide to hear the en banc hearing - and the judges ruled 2-1 against Elliott, so there is some dissension - it could be months before anything actually happens and Elliott could theoretically play out the season. As of now, Elliott is set to be suspended through Week 12. Elliott was never charged and has continued to deny any wrongdoing.

However, the National Football League adamantly disagrees with this stance and issued a statement late Saturday claiming the injunction that would be issued would be merely "administrative" and would not affect Elliott's status.
