NB-IoT is a narrowband radio technology designed for the Internet of Things (IoT) and is one of a range of Mobile IoT (MIoT) technologies standardized by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP).NB-IoT focuses specifically on indoor coverage, low cost, long battery life, and enabling a large number of connected devices. This will enable users to get notification from the Connect Tag on their preferred smart device, say for instance, a Samsung TV. The Samsung Connect Tag offers smart location notifications based on a NB-IoT or Cat.M1 network, leveraging full internet services to identify location information for increased family security and peace of mind.

As one of the main benefits of NB-IoT is its greater power efficiency, the Connect Tag can go a whole week without needing a recharge, according to Samsung. The company claims that it can be attached to a child's backpack or clipped to a dog's collar, to ensure that their whereabouts can be kept in check.

Samsung says the tag has a geofence feature to notify you when your kid, pet, or object strays beyond the limits you set.
