Sucker punched by 26 year-old at Carolina Panthers game

Kyle Adam Maraghy, 26, has been arrested in connection with the assault at Thursday night's game between the Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles.

Maraghy was taken to Mecklenburg County jail, but was later released and did not answer any of Channel 9's questions.

The NFL is working with Carolina Panthers security after the video surfaced from Thursday night's game.

In the video, which was posted on Instagram by user "odubco", the man, now identified as Maraghy, standing up in a black Cam Newton jersey, turning around and punching the 62-year-old man in the face.

Update: CMPD has arrested Kyle Adam Maraghy and charged him with simple assault in connection with this incident.

"Words gradually got more and more escalated. there previously was a single mom and her son between us, they left halfway through the 3rd", according to the Instagram post.

After the video started circulating on social media, the Panthers said they were working with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police to investigate the incident.

The Panthers responded with a news release saying they "are committed to a fan-friendly and family-friendly stadium experience".

Maraghy then proceeds to punch the older man several times, causing blood to stream down the victim's face. "The behavior exhibited by the perpetrator is unacceptable and will not be condoned at Bank of America Stadium".
