Tesla Motors fired hundreds of workers after completing its annual performance reviews, even though the electric automaker is trying to ramp up production to meet the demand for its new Model 3 sedan.

If a Tesla driver's insurance goes up, "there is a simple solution", Musk said.

Electric auto manufacturer Tesla said y were going out of mass work as a result of ir annual performance evaluation. Tesla employs about 10,000 workers at its Fremont factory.

As per spokesman of Tesla, like other companies in the market, Tesla also conducts its annual performance review that includes both constructive feedback and recognition of top performers with supplementary reimbursement. The San Jose Mercury News interviewed multiple former and current Tesla employees, who estimated 400 to 700 workers lost their jobs.

Industry analysts now appear to be estimating the company will deliver enough Model 3 electric cars in the remaining three months of the year to get total 2017 production into the mid-thousands, virtually all of them to employees or "friends of Tesla". He worked at Tesla for almost four years, and said he heard about 60 other workers in his section of the factory were dismissed. Now, he said, "I'm going to try to find a job". That production surrounds the Model 3, the company's first mass-market vehicle, for which Musk has set an aggressive production schedule - one the company has not kept pace with. The company said recently a manufacturing bottleneck caused it to fall far short of its goal to produce 1,500 Model 3s in the quarter.

The Californian vehicle manufacturer had estimated that it would be building around 1,500 versions of the EV per week. "It's no secret that Tesla's Model 3 development and ramp-up for production has been derailed", Harley said.
