Evan Macy: Why Joel Embiid's minutes restriction really is "f-king bullshit"

Embiid, himself, told reporters Tuesday that he thinks he can play more than 16 minutes, but Philadelphia is unlikely to take any chances with its franchise big man.

When asked by reporters how much Embiid would play in the team's season opener against the Washington Wizards tomorrow night, Sixers head coach Brett Brown said he didn't have a set number, but added, "somewhere like in the teens".

Joel Embiid will be on a minutes restriction to start the season, once again, and he's not pleased. Embiid said on Monday that the news was "very disappointing".

"They are going to hear me". I think I'm ready for more than whatever number they have.

Over the long run, the price of a stock will normally go up in lock step with its earnings (assuming the P/E ratio is constant). Harley-Davidson reiterated its expectation to ship 241,000-246,000 units in 2017, roughly reflecting a 6-8% decline from 2016.

European Union foreign ministers approve new sanctions on N. Korea
Speaking to reporters in Sydney on Sunday, Ms Bishop said: "Australia is not a primary target and North Korea has made threats against Australia before".

"I always think I have a voice, so I'm sure they're listening to what I have to say too, but they're making a decision based on what they think", he said. After missing the first two seasons of his career with foot injuries, Embiid played 31 games last season, looking like a revelation on the court before tearing his meniscus and missing the rest of the season.

This came as a surprise for Embiid, who didn't find out about his reduced role until reporters asked him about it on Monday. I think I'm ready for more than, I don't know, whatever number they have. When active, Embiid averaged 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.5 blocks despite playing just 25.4 minutes per game.

As expected, the Sixers will exercise caution with Embiid, who inked a lucrative extension with the organization less than two weeks ago. "We're going to discuss it, but at the same time I trust them, I trust the doctors, and even if I feel good, they have a plan behind it". Last season he was visibly upset when he was removed from a close game because of his minutes restriction.

Clearly the Sixers are nursing their most valuable players back to full strength. Now, barely 24 hours after the team announced No. 1 overall pick Markelle Fultz would begin the season coming off the bench, Embiid is frustrated with his minutes restriction.
