Trans footballer rejected from playing in pro women's league

The AFL left open the possibility that Mouncey, who plays Aussie rules football in another league out of Canberra, could be nominated again for future drafts but indicated she'd undergo another extensive reevaluation again.

Despite being denied for 2018, there is a chance Mouncey will be accepted for the 2019 season. But handball is offering her representative opportunities in the women's game.

The matter of AFLW draft eligibility for transgender athletes is complex and the AFL's decision has the potential to impact members and prospective members of the AFLPA now and into the future.

"It was important to involve the right stakeholders to review all the information and data available".

"We acknowledge Hannah's openness and co-operation".

"[Mouncey] has contributed to a process which will substantially inform the development of the AFL's transgender policy and procedure for future players at the elite level", she said. "We recognise that participating in sport has physical, psychological and social benefits and we are committed to making Australian football on every level welcoming to all in our community".

Presumably it was those statistics the AFL was referring to in its media statement on the decision.

The AFL's decision to bar transgender footballer Hannah Mouncey from today's AFL Women's draft smacks of policy on the run.

"If they don't it could get quite messy and quite complicated if they go the other route", Quill told SEN's Breakfast on Tuesday. A year ago she kicked 17 goals and was named as an emergency in a Canberra representative side.

"I can't wait to see you all at the highest level and to play with and against you back in Canberra next year", Mouncey tweeted.

Bye, Amy Henning - EA shuts down Visceral
The company says that it wants to focus more on creating "a broader experience that allows for more variety and player agency". Of course, with Dead Space 3 things became apparent that EA wanted to make as much money as they possibly could off the game.

MS school named after Jefferson Davis to be renamed after Barack Obama
Officials revealed the new name on Tuesday night, saying school stakeholders had voted to make the change earlier this month. Davis, a former US senator and secretary of war, served as president of the Confederate States from 1861 to 1865.

USA to face England in Under-17 World Cup quarterfinals
Foden occupied the attacking midfielder's position, and initiated several promising moves, but England's finishing was poor. Foden initiated the moves but they failed to finish and survived a couple of Japanese onslaught late in the first- half.

"They will use that".

"People will have their opinions but I think they're best off keeping that to themselves", Tully said.

Mouncey, who is six feet two inches tall and weighs 15 stone eight pounds, claimed she was "extremely disappointed" with the ruling which applies to next year's event only.

She said: 'People have said "with how big you are you'll probably hold back a bit so you don't hurt anyone" and I'm like, "well no, I'm not going to hold back, that defeats the whole purpose".

Tully says Gungahlin were aware Mouncey was one of Ainslie's key players ahead of their clash earlier this year but they didn't fear her or focus all of their energy on stopping her. "She's too strong. Her strength and stamina et cetera is greater".

"We will continue to support her from both legal and wellbeing perspectives". In line with AFL Victoria Guidelines, because Mouncey has been through the gender reassignment process, she should be considered to be the gender set out on the Victorian state documentation.

"If she is allowed to play women's footy up here, I don't see her not being allowed to play in a better competition".

In light of the AFL's decision, I wonder where transgender women fit into the AFL family if they want to play.

Mouncey's last reading was well below these requirements.

AFL Guidelines stipulate that in working out if a transgender woman is eligible for the competition, she must "demonstrate that her total testosterone level in serum has been below 10 nmol/L for at least 12 months prior to her first competition". I'm sure she mourned the loss of her place in this team when she transitioned.
