ZTE's latest device, the ZTE Axon M, is a new foldable smartphone, with two screens.

"The ZTE Axon M lets customers multitask and enjoy entertainment in new and exciting ways".

As far as specifications are concerned, the ZTE Axon M comes equipped with two 5.2-inch full-HD TFT LCD displays with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels and a scratch resistance Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. The phone fits the definition of a device with a folding display, albeit of a different kind than what is expected. This feature can be seen in the image below and was created to both enhance productivity in certain apps by providing users with more screen real estate to work with and ennoble regular media viewing experiences, according to ZTE. The problem here is that screens often eat more battery power than CPUs do these days, and running two screens together are going to impact endurance. Essentially, you can fold the phone to have a display on the front and back, or you could open it up and the two 5.2-inch displays will make up one 6.75-inch display that is separated by the hinge. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat and it is juiced up by a 3180mAh battery.

Struggling smartphone maker ZTE Corp.is hoping its newest offering will bring it "double happiness" by serving up an unusual dual-screen design. Mirror Mode shows same things on both the displays so you can turn the phone anyway and you will get the same screen on both the displays. Unlike other Chinese smartphone makers, which have mostly moved to developing markets like India, ZTE has been one of the only players to find success in the US, where it is now No. 4 with almost 10% share, according to IDC.

Apart from that, a Snapdragon 821, 4 GB RAM, and 64 GB ROM complete the bulky hardware.

Would you want a foldable phone? The phone offers 64GB of Internal Storage memory. The model will launch next month in the U.S., Japan, Europe and China.

The ZTE Axon M costs as much as a flagship with an instalment of $24.17 (roughly Rs. 1,600) for 30 months on AT&T Next exclusively. Alongside the usual back / home / multitasking icons at the bottom of the screen, the ZTE Axon M has a dual-screen mode switching "M" icon (see pic above). Interestingly enough, the dual-screen structure means that there's a single 20MP camera for both rear and front-facing photography.
