The team announced on Thursday that Lin had been diagnosed with a ruptured patellar tendon.

The former Harvard guard was hoping for a stronger second season with the Nets.

In the Brooklyn Nets' season opener, Jeremy Lin went down with a knee injury and the Nets announce today that he will miss the rest of the season. You can see him mouth the words, "I'm done, bro".

He was assisted to the locker room and was sent for evaluations on Thursday morning where the extent of the injury was truly learned.

Jeremy Lin's season ends before the final buzzer of their first game.

New Zealand Just Selected Its Youngest Prime Minister Since 1856
New Zealand's currency fell by about 2 per cent as the result became clear, with the New Zealand dollar trading at $0.70. Act Party leader David Seymour said it leaves a "weak Left coalition beholden to a madman on the loose".

"Jeremy worked tremendously hard during the off-season and in training camp, and was excited for the prospects of the team this season", said Nets General Manager Sean Marks. "Lin is expected to miss the entire 2017-18 season".

His first season with the team was limited due to injuries, too as hamstring issues forced him out of 46 games.

Lin left the 140-131 loss to the Indiana Pacers after driving to the basket in the fourth quarter. However, he looked to be a bright spot in Brooklyn's lineup averaging 14.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 5.1 assists.

The 29-year-old guard, who had 18 points and four assists in 25 minutes, immediately clutched his knee and said "I'm done" before bursting into tears and being helped off the court.
