Kentucky hospitals receive an A in new safety report

To the north, Madera Community Hospital received an "A" grade and Mercy Medical Center in Merced got a "B".

"Everyone on our team works hard to make sure those who come to us for care receive the highest level of service including care that is provided in the safest manner possible", chief executive officer of Banner Health Northern Colorado hospitals Margo Karsten said in the release.

"Maintaining the highest national standards for patient safety is something we strive to be recognized for".

The Leapfrog safety grades are based on computations by top patient safety experts. "We will continue to improve by putting patient care quality first". "By making the Hospital Safety Grades public, we've galvanized major changes in these states and many communities", Leah Binder, the president and CEO of Leapfrog wrote in a blog post, referring to states that have shown great improvement.

Almost half of all hospitals in New Jersey scored top marks in health care performance this fall in the newest national report. The Leapfrog Group looked at hospitals in every state to see how they keep patients safe from errors, injuries, accidents, and infections.
