Taking to the company's forum, CEO Pete Lau has explained that while he believes wireless charging is an "exciting concept", it's not now as good as the company's wired Dash Charge.

In a post on OnePlus Forums, Pete Lau has said that the upcoming OnePlus 5T won't be featuring Wireless Charging because wired quick charging tech like their Dash Charge "clearly outshine wireless on quantitative measures".

The reason why the company changed its decision is that wireless charging gives the power output of 15 watts which is comparatively less than what dash charge technology offers.

While wireless charging is quickly becoming the norm for many modern-day smartphones, this technology yet to make its debut on the OnePlus devices. Wirelessly charging more than one device at a time further divides that number, leading to even slower charging per device. But Dash Charge does it much faster with a cable. It juices up the phone to 60% in a half an hour. "Wireless charging pads, cases, tables, and lamps - these all add up if you want to charge on the go or outfit your home for true convenience, creating constraints for the user", notes Lau. As per the claims made by the company, its dash charge is more competent in comparison to wireless charging due to its limitations.

Ranch dressing lovers, you're dream keg awaits!
And Hidden Valley notes that the kegs are "stackable" , in the event that you'd need more than one... The ranch keg stands at around 10 inches tall and apparently holds 5 liters of dressing.

The company has also confirmed that you can buy the phone from November 21 so there will be a short wait before you will be able to get the phone. And you can't use your phone while it charges, since picking it up will stop the charging. This is nice in theory, but isn't as simple as it sounds in practical, notes Lau. This doesn't mean that the company is not going to try the wireless charging forever. If you don't align the unit on the pad correctly, it may not properly charge or won't at all. The technology has been around for a while, but has been generating a lot of buzz again because of its inclusion in the new Apple iPhones.

Dash Charge eliminates both of those problems, he added.

As a product guy, it's exciting to see technology advance from theory to implementation. "Until then, we'll stick to Dash Charge", notes Lau.
