'Star Wars' confirms Rian Johnson will create another all-new trilogy

The announcement shows exactly what Disney has planned for the series after the ninth film in the Skywalker saga (Episodes I through IX).

"The Last Jedi" will be in cinemas from December 15, and as per the website - no Porgs are available for comment on this fantastic news!

It turns out, Disney and Lucasfilm already have an ambitious new plan in place for the future of world's most beloved sci-fi franchise.

Whether an indication of how they felt about "The Last Jedi" or not, Disney and Lucasfilm confirmed that director Rian Johnson will create another all-new "Star Wars" trilogy.

Under the deal, Johnson will write and direct the new trilogy's first instalment and longtime business partner Ram Bergman will produce.
