Bentley has rolled out its new racing auto and it is a beauty of a vehicle. The Continental GT3 foregoes Bentley's focus on subtlety, turning the dial up to 11 to comply with FIA specifications, and it's already a hotshot.

Bentley Motorsport is now working with the M-Sport technical team to develop the new Continental GT3, which is now in the middle of a rigorous six-month testing period in Europe to prepare it for 24-hour endurance races. The Continental GT3's first-generation predecessor itself had some considerable success, with 120 podium finishes and 45 wins across a total of 528 races worldwide. It has been developed by Bentley Motorsport in Crewe, with technical assistance from the M-Sport rally team that runs the world championship-winning Ford Fiesta World Rally Car.

Bentley first introduced a GT3-spec Continental GT racing auto in 2012 and has been a favourite among privateer teams across Europe.

The new GT3, based on the new Continental GT, features far more aggressive bodywork than the GT, with a deep front spoiler, wide wheel arches, aerodynamic fins and a huge rear wing.

Should skies remain clear, it was predicted the rocket launched would be seen from as far north as Boston to as far south as SC . These, given the subfreezing temperatures, were clad in mittens, woolen hats and their heaviest coats.

It is powered by 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 but with engine management from Cosworth for additional racing grunt.

Suspension and braking systems are new and totally tailored to the Continental GT3, while a six-speed sequential gearbox replaces the road car's automatic unit.

Customers can purchase the new GT3 race auto starting June 2018, although Bentley won't say for how much yet. It will make its race debut at the opening round of the 2018 Blancpain Cup at Monza, on 21 April. We'd also love to know what that drop-dead gorgeous green-on-silver color scheme is called.
