The Vols haven't won a SEC title since 1998, which was also the year Tennessee won the national championship under coach Philip Fulmer.

Defensive line coach Brady Hoke, the former head coach at MI, will serve as UT's interim coach for the remainder of the season. On Sunday Morning he notified his team that he will no longer be coaching at Tennessee.

Jones stabilized a rocky program, but Tennessee's regression in Year 5 has been startling, losing all six SEC games and facing the real possibility of missing a bowl game for the fourth time in eight years.

Jones posted a 6-18 record against ranked opponents and a 14-22 mark against teams with winning records.

Jones began his head coaching career at Central Michigan before moving to Cincinnati and eventually to Tennessee in 2013.

The authorities have pressed into service a team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to rescue the missing passengers. Local media reports suggested the boat was overloaded with passengers and the buoyancy of water changed leading to the disaster.

Hasbro reportedly offered to buy Mattel
Mattel's Wonder Woman doll is seen at the 114th North American International Toy Fair in New York City, U.S. on February 21, 2017. CEO Margo Georgiadis, who took the reins in January, has warned the business would miss its revenue forecast for the full year.

Hoke took over as the defensive line coach for the Volunteers this season after spending last season as the defensive coordinator at Oregon.

Both coaches will latch on somewhere else during the offseason, but probably not as a head coach, and definitely not at a powerhouse program. Hoke was serving as the defensive line coach at Tennessee and was the head coach at MI before Jim Harbaugh.

The Vols' latest setback, and apparently the final straw for athletic director John Currie, was Saturday's embarrassing 50-17 blowout against Missouri.

Hoke has been a head coach for 12 seasons, making stops at Ball State and San Diego State before arriving in Ann Arbor in 2011.

The Tigers amassed a whopping 659 yards of total offense, including a massive 433 yards on the ground.
