LeBron James, Cavaliers ride the subway before game against Knicks

Fans can be heard saying hello to former Knick J.R. Smith as the team makes their way to the platform.

It is important to note that the New York Knicks were still headed by then-President Phil Jackson at the time when the 2017 NBA Draft negotiations were happening. He scored nine in the fourth quarter, but missed a layup with 30.7 seconds left that would've trimmed the Mavericks' deficit to two. NY took Ntilikina with the No. 8 pick in the June draft, one spot before the Mavericks selected Smith. Several reasons. On one hand, James is close with Smith, and has been a mentor to the rookie going back several years. Athleticism. He's very poised to be his age. He can shoot the ball. Thanks to that famous NY traffic, it was going to take almost an hour to get back to the hotel after shoot-around, so LeBron and Co. chose to take a six-minute train ride instead.

As the Cavs were walking through Penn Station to the underground subway, one passerby said "KP gonna get y'all tonight" as he walked by James and his teammates. "I don't know what's wrong with him". "I've been knowing his talent level".

Dallas Mavericks rookie Dennis Smith Jr. made some impressive stats recently, and his performance is catching some attention from around the league.

Tom Brady: 'I love having Martellus (Bennett) on our team'
During the Packers' bye week, he took anti-inflammatories and the pain got worse, which prompted an exam from the team. Bennett explained after the game, via the Boston Herald ... "They're always rooting for me no matter what".

Firm offers to buy out owner of a SC shopping mall
Investors are a little more bearish on shares of Brookfield Property Partners L lately as shown by the uptick in short interest. Brookfield is offering $29, or US$23, in cash or 0.9656 of a Brookfield Property Partners unit in exchange for each GGP share.

Conversely, the Mavericks have been outscored by 12.1 points per 100 possessions with Smith on the floor thus far. The Cavaliers are in town on Monday, so LeBron's comments should give the Knicks plenty of bulletin-board material.

James publicly called out Jackson a year ago after the Hall of Fame coach referred to the four-time league MVP's business associates as a "posse" in an interview with ESPN.

"Yeah, that's fine", James said, when reminded he was headed there next.

Why would LeBron use his post-game comments to critique the Knicks' draft strategy?
