Stabbing Confirmed at Mall of America

A suspect is in custody after two men were stabbed at the Mall of America during what police called an "interrupted theft".

It was reported that the two men were confronting Mahad Abdirahman, the suspect, about stealing some belongings from a dressing room when they were injured.

Abdirahaman, who is now being held on two counts of probable cause first-degree assault, was pictured in his mugshot bruised and bloodied.

At 6:44 p.m., officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the fitting room of Macy's men's department. Authorities say both men suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Bloomington police say a suspect is in custody in connection with the incident.
