The blonde beauty explained that although she experiences her fair share of doubt and heartache, it's important to remember that "a small idea" can transform her outlook.

'The @glamourmag Awards were, yet again, so inspiring, emotional and powerful.

And they posed on the red carpet together, too. Thank you to all of the genius, incredible, strong, mega inspiring, handsome and unique women who spoke and congratulations to all of the women who were acknowledged for their bravery, talent and strength.

The 22-year-old was forced to grab hold of her younger sister Bella, as she got her feet caught in her long gown.

'I want to let you know that just because I'm standing here, winning this award, doesn't mean that I have it all figured out. "Every day, something new can inspire you, and a small thought or idea or action can change the course of your day, your week, your month, your year. And I want you to imagine the effect you have on the world", Williams said to Hadid, according to People.

Hadid, who this year alone has walked at numerous fashion weeks and graced the cover of many magazine, looks set to see her star continue to rise.

While boyfriend Zayn, who she has just celebrated two years with, wasn't there, her mum Yolanda and brother Anwar joined her and Bella.

In an interview on the Today Show, Gigi spoke about being named woman of the year, saying being honest and genuine about who she really is - rather than who she seems to be - is important to her.
