Earlier in the trip, Tweeden says Franken had also kissed her without her consent as the pair were rehearsing a skit.

Tweeden wrote that she avoided Franken as much as she could during the rest of the tour, and made sure she was never alone with him.

Al Franken says he doesn't remember a USO Tour skit "in the same way" as a fellow performer who alleges he kissed her against her will.

Franken, a well-known writer, comedian and Saturday Night Live staffer was not elected to the senate until 2009.

The Democratic senator swiftly issued an apology to Tweeden, although he claimed to remember the rehearsal differently.

Franken said he intended for the photo to be amusing, but it wasn't. "I shouldn't have done it".

Franken later posed for a photo with his hands over Tweeden's breasts as she was sleeping on a military plane flying back from Afghanistan.

Another premise in the article revolved around Franken touring a fictitious sexual training facility in Minnesota, and having graphic virtual reality sex. Additionally, there is an incriminating photo that shows the senator groping her as she lay asleep. "I think the tide is turning, and what about all the women who don't have microphones and a voice and can say something and it's all over the news?" "Women across America should be able to feel safe in their workplace, and they deserve our support when coming forward with allegations of misconduct". "As I recall, that was fine for our grandmothers".

The owner of the truck was soon revealed to be Karen Forsenca, a mother of 12 (!) who adamantly refuses to alter her vehicle. He wrote: "I have received numerous calls regarding the offensive display on this truck as it is often seen along FM 359".

"The first thing I want to do is apologize: to Leeann, to everyone else who was part of that tour, to everyone who has worked for me, to everyone I represent, and to everyone who counts on me to be an ally and supporter and champion of women. And I'm sorry it's taken me so long to come to terms with that".

Wyden's remark comes after news reports that Franken groped and forcibly kissed Leeann Tweeden.

The Senate's Democratic and Republican leaders called on the Ethics Committee to review the allegations and Franken said he would cooperate.

Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) listens to the testimony of Attorney General Jeff Sessions during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on "Oversight of the U.S. Department of Justice" on Capital Hill in Washington, DC, on October 18, 2017.

"Let me tell you about one show I did", he said.

"Comedy is no excuse for inappropriate conduct, and I believe there should be an ethics investigation", she added.

Speaking on her radio show Thursday morning, Tweeden said she didn't come forward with the allegations sooner because she feared her career, including a stint as a swimsuit model, would lead others to discount her story. And they deserve to know that I am their ally and supporter.
