Mumbai: Following threats from a fringe group in Rajasthan to chop off Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone's nose if the controversial film Padmavati, which is allegedly based on the legend of Rani Padmini of Chittor is aired on December 1, the Mumbai police has provided special security at the residence and office of producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali and actor Deepika Padukone. But, contrary to the reports, Prasoon has now come out with a clarification where he has said that he is yet to watch the film. Deepika is dancing in the film.

The court said that filmmakers and writers should be allowed to enjoy freedom of speech and expression, and that all creative people have the right to enjoy their works in production of films and dramas. "We have written to censor board and have also met Venkaiah Naidu and Rajyavardhan Rathore over the matter". Rani Ma Padmavati had sacrificed her life with 12,000 other women in mass immolation (Jauhar), and Bhansali has raised a question on her courage by showing her in bad light in his film.

During the shooting of the film earlier this year, a few members of the Shri Rajput Karni Sena had physically assaulted Bhansali in Jaipur. "Will call for Bharat bandh on 1 December", Lokendra Singh Kalvi said. We have the support of all castes and communities. Kalvi told a TV channel.

The protests spread to the south as Rajput community members today staged a demonstration in Bengaluru.

"What we have learnt is that there is lots of distortion of historical facts". There are many protests and violence that are happening against the Bhansali and the people are opposing the movie from the time it was being shot at various locales in the different parts of India and now as it is preparing for release globally soon.

In Kota, six of the eight persons detained on Tuesday night in connection for allegedly vandalising a cinema hall were arrested and produced before a court that sent them to judicial custody till November 19.
