Chennai: Almost a month after foster father's arrest of in death case of Sherin Mathews, a three-year-old Indian toddler, her foster mother was held and charged with "abandoning or endangering a child", according to a statement issued by the Richardson Police Department.

Sini is being held on $250,000 bond. She is expected to be arraigned Friday morning.

Sherin was left alone in the kitchen of the Mathews home. "It's not necessarily related to her death, it's related to her care that she was being given while she was in that home".

According to WFAA, an itemized receipt from the restaurant confirmed that the family ordered only one child's meal the night of October 6. "This was purely based on what we were told by Wesley", said the officer, noting that Mathews has previously changed his statement three times as to what happened on the night Sherin died.

Wesley Mathews had initially said he sent Sherin outside to an alley near their house about 3 am because she refused to drink her milk. When he returned, Wesley said she had disappeared and that her location was unknown. Later, in the garage, Wesley Mathews said was still trying to get his daughter to drink milk and she wouldn't listen, so he "physically assisted" her. He said she was gone when he returned 15 minutes later and then, he went inside to do laundry, waiting for sunrise so he could continue searching for the little girl.
