Gusty winds, rain showers, and thunderstorms develop for Saturday

Cool winds out of the north and northwest will be sustained between 15 to 25 miles per hour, with gusts near 40 miles per hour at times. Temperatures in the 70s, low relative humidity and the strong winds will allow for a high fire danger through today. Scattered rain is possible in western New England by late afternoon, but the bulk of the rain with embedded downpours holds off until overnight and into the first half of Sunday. Temperatures are predicted in the mid 30s.

The weekend brings some weather changes. Afternoon highs will be a bit more pleasant in the mid to upper 60s through mid-week. So expect a dry day with partly sunny skies, but a little brisk and colder with highs settling back down into the mid 40s, a bit cooler than average for late November. Light and variable wind.

Saturday: An 80 percent chance of rain and snow before 2 p.m., then a slight chance of rain between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., high near 39.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 45. Chance of precipitation is 20%. Initially those strong winds gusts will be coming in from the south. No accumulation is expected.
