No link between dual citizen's case, United Kingdom debt: Iran's FM

The money is being held by the British High Court on behalf of the government, after The Hague's Permanent Court of Arbitration ruled in favor of Iran in 2001, according to British sources.

Dr Rowan told Premier: "I think what's going to help most is if this case can be taken right out of political point scoring and I think religious leaders are well-placed to do that".

However, when asked about the report, Theresa May's spokesman said: "We are clear we don't see any link between these two issues". Speaking after meeting Boris Johnson, the Foreign Secretary, he said: "It is important that the United Kingdom honours its global legal obligations, so that Iran can honour its legal obligations".
