China and Russian Federation to Hold Anti-Missile Drill Simulations

It seems like North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is not keeping well these days as the country has not launched any ballistic missile since last two months.

China has yet to offer any details of Song's visit, which began on Friday, and it is unclear how long he will be in North Korea.

The trip comes about a week after US President Donald Trump held talks with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, in Beijing as part of his 5-nation tour of Asia and said they agreed to "increase economic pressure until North Korea abandons its reckless and unsafe path". But gaps remain wide between the United States and North Korea, limiting Beijing's ability to broker a compromise, analysts said. The North Korean state media quoted the Chinese diplomat as saying the CPC's position is to improve ties with the Pyongyang regime.

Kim took over as the supreme leader of North Korea after the demise of his father Kim Jong-il, who suffered from a heart attack in 2011.

Song, the head of the International Liaison Department of China's Communist Party and a former vice foreign minister, led a delegation to inform Pyongyang officials about the results of China's 19th Communist Party National Congress, which concluded last month. In his discussions with North Korea's senior official Choe Ryong-hae, Song briefed him about the latest political change taking place in China where Xi has been re-elected as the chief of CPC's central committee.

Steve Kerr on Joel Embiid: 'What he did in LA was terrifying'
The Warriors continued their role late into the third quarter, and caught a break when an Embiid chase-down effort went south. The Warriors bounced back the following season with a championship - sort of killing that joke - but Embiid didn't care.

Top US nuclear commander would resist 'illegal' launch of nuclear weapons
Hyten said the military is on constant alert - ready at any time to respond to a nuclear threat by North Korea. He said he would not obey an illegal order. "If you execute an unlawful order, you will go to jail.

China's state-controlled Global Times cautioned against expecting too much from Song's visit.

Song will be the first Chinese envoy to make an official trip to North Korea since October 2016. KCNA said that according to Choe, China stands ready to develop "traditional friendly relations" between the two parties and countries. "The key to easing the situation in the peninsula lies in the hands of Washington and Pyongyang. If both sides insist on their own logic and refuse to move in the same direction, even if Song opens a door for talks, the door could be closed anytime".

The last time China's special envoy for North Korea visited the country was in February previous year.

They are also likely to discuss ways to strengthen their coordination to peacefully resolve the North Korea nuclear issue, the ministry said.
