Married science teacher, 22, accused of raping teen student

Authorities said they were made aware of the alleged relationship after receiving a complaint from the boy's parents, who were anxious that their son had already had sex with the teacher - and believed at the time that she was his chemistry teacher. She was wearing a Christmas cat T-shirt and workout shorts, the outlet reported.

In Texas, home to the largest number of teacher sexual misconduct cases in the country, investigations into alleged inappropriate teacher-student relationships has grown 27 percent over the past three years, to 179.

The student and Day planned a meeting at her house on the day of the arrest, KWTV reported.

With social media becoming an active tool in sexual solicitations, many schools are tightening rules limiting contact between students and teachers on sites like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. She had no criminal record and nothing in her background indicated any such leanings.

"Inside the living room, sitting on floor with the lights turned off in the living room, with candles lit was Hunter Day", West said. Day said "Yes", officials said.

Day said that she choose to leave her previous career path in order to "have more family time".

"I think my biggest concern when I first traveled down this route was behavior management", Day told News 9 in October.

"I wouldn't have graduated without her", says 17-year-old Stacy Williams, who adds that she believes Marx was set up.
