An American TV producer thought he had secured the flawless vantage point to capture the moment the Georgia Dome in Atlanta is demolished - until a bus came along and blocked the money shot.

More than 2,000kg of explosives were used to destroy the stadium, which was opened in 1989, cost $214m to build, and has hosted two Super Bowls.

It only took 15 seconds for the former home of the Atlanta Falcons in the National Football League, is reduced to dust.

ATLANTA (AP) - One of the country's largest domed stadiums collapsed Monday into a pile of jagged concrete and a vast cloud of smoke in a scheduled implosion in downtown Atlanta.
