Florida officials, led by athletic director Scott Stricklin, met with Kelly in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, on Sunday to confirm his interest in the job, although money wasn't discussed and no contract has been offered, according to industry sources.

On Monday it was reported that UCLA was heavily targeting former OR head coach Chip Kelly.

Asked about his personal preference for style of play, Moos told the Journal Star during his first week on the job, "My preference ... every offense, sooner or later, is going to get defended". There will probably be some more productive conversations in the days ahead.

As college football approaches the last full weekend of the regular season, the Florida Gators continue their search for a new head football coach.

Despite the unceremonious end to his National Football League tenure, Kelly is an experienced coach with a system that unquestionably works at the college level.

Best defensive performance: Defensive end Joey Bosa had a sack, a forced fumble and an interception in the 2015 game. Cardale Jones led one touchdown drive, and Darron Lee sealed a 42-28 victory with a fumble return for a touchdown.

Kelly posted a 46-7 record at OR from 2009-12 and was widely regarded as one of the best offensive minds in the game during that span.

The offers from Tennessee, UCLA and Florida are thought to be in the $6 million a year range. He was sacked by the San Francisco 49ers in January after one season. The Volunteers have reportedly pursued ESPN analyst Jon Gruden in addition to Kelly.

Besides UCLA and Florida, the 53-year-old Kelly isn't expected to consider any other college openings, according to ESPN.

His final team in 2012 went 12-1 and averaged 49.6 points per game. He led OR to big bowls in each of his four seasons: Rose, the BCS title game, Rose and Fiesta.
