On Friday, Fox released a statement saying they have "temporarily halted production on Bohemian Rhapsody due to the unexpected unavailability" of director Bryan Singer.

Joining Malek for the film are Joe Mazzello as Queen bass guitarist John "Deacy" Deacon, Gwimlym Lee as lead guitarist Brian May, Ben Hardy as drummer Roger Taylor, and Lucy Boynton as Mercury's friend and lover Mary Austin.

The report further said that a source had mentioned that Singer did not return to the set after the Thanksgiving holiday break, leaving producers nervous about the state of the production. Unfortunately, though, we're hearing that it may be hit with a delay, as production has been halted by 20th Century Fox.

Fox has halted production on "Bohemian Rhapsody" due to a "health matter" involving director-producer Bryan Singer.

This is not first time that Singer has disappeared during a production. Singer posted photos of Malek from the set in October.

Speculation has already begun to circulate online that Singer's absence from the set of Bohemian Rhapsody is related to an upcoming report concerning new or known allegations of sexual violence against the director. It's also reported that an unnamed cinematographer stepped in and directed in Singer's stead during an unforeseen "non-showing".

Filming for the forthcoming "Bohemian Rhapsody" has been temporarily suspended.

The filmmaker is 52 years old and his film credits include some popular titles such as The Usual Suspect, Jack the Giant Slayer, Superman Returns and four films from the X-Men franchise; X-Men, X-Men 2, X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse.

"Bryan hopes to get back to work on the film soon after the holidays", the statement said.
