Mourinho to rotate players for CSKA with City looming

Jose Mourinho insisted last week that he wouldn't field a weakened starting XI for Tuesday's clash with CSKA Moscow in the Champions League. He then added: "I can make a surprise tomorrow and the one that is unavailable, he plays".

United would secure top spot in the group by avoiding defeat to CSKA, who are also still in contention for a knockout berth.

Paul Pogba's injury recently showed United's vulnerability in midfield without the Frenchman, which could be one of the reasons for Mourinho's interest in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup victor.

"But when we speak about Luke Shaw, he's working to have an opportunity and sooner or later that opportunity will arrive because he deserves that opportunity".

At the weekend, Matic played the full 90 minutes - despite being rated as doubtful - as United ran out 3-1 winners over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. "He's very happy to play tomorrow".

"Zlatan needs sometimes hard work on the muscular area that supports the knee".

"When the period for that hard work comes, so does fatigue".

The Huskies beat the Scarlet Knights 30-14 in New Jersey en route to a 10-2 season with wins over Washington State, Oregon, UCLA. The Nittany Lions and Huskies both finished 10-2 and will meet at University of Phoenix Stadium on December 30.

'De Gea is third best right now' David de Gea made 14 saves in the game against Arsenal, the joint-most in a Premier League game since 2003-04, when Opta started collecting this data.

United need only avoid a heavy defeat against the Russians to ensure they top Group A and book their place in the draw for the last-16 on December 11. Because he plays tomorrow and my goalkeeper is always the best goalkeeper in the world.

Sergio Romero is set to start in goal ahead of David de Gea, whose heroics on Saturday contributed greatly to the win against Arsenal, while Joel Pereira will take a place on the bench as understudy. So now David is the third best. We didn't qualify yet and I need to keep a certain balance in the team.

And with that in mind, here is a potential XI for the meeting with the Russian side including Scott McTominay and Luke Shaw.

"Selected for Tuesday, yes for sure".

"He is selected for tomorrow for sure - to start or be on the bench I can not answer".
