Atiku bombs APC, says party can't equal PDP's achievements

According to him, Atiku's defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) should be a cause of concern for the APC leadership.

Hundreds of party faithful had amassed around the vicinity of the Wadata Plaza National Secretariat of the PDP as early as 9:30am in anticipation of his visit which leaked early this morning.

"Let nobody fear that the defection of the former Vice President is going to lead to any deluge".

He maintained that there was no other party that was truly settled outside APC, adding that even the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) was not stable because it was still fighting to get a chairman.

The former vice president also reached out to other PDP defectors in the APC to return to the former ruling party.

"Now that we have learnt our lessons, I hope that we will be guided by the lessons we have learnt".

He subsequently went upstairs to the office of the Chairman of the National Caretaker Committee (NCC), of the party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, for a meeting before returning to NEC Hall for the courtesy call. We are not just targeting Aso Rock, we are targeting the federal legislature, the state both the executive and legislature.

Due to an internal party crisis he defected to the APC in the run-up to the 2015 presidential election before losing the party's ticket to another eventual victor, President Buhari. "That is what PDP must stand for if it has to survive", he added. "As a united party, we have the capacity and we have the ability to do so".
