Billy Turner, 46, was arrested and indicted on the charge of first-degree murder and is being held on $1 million bond, as the D.A. told the website that the investigation into the case continues. On Tuesday, a man was charged in the murder of the former National Basketball Association player.

Memphis police announced last month they had found a gun in a MS lake about 75 miles east of the city that they believed to be connected with Wright's murder, Commercial Appeal reports. "You gotta pray for what you want and that's what I did".

During his career, Wright was a 6-11 center who played for teams such as the L.A. Clippers, Atlanta Hawks, and Memphis Grizzlies. Former NBA players and friends including Anfernee Hardaway and Elliot Perry attended a memorial service for Wright in the days after his body was found.

Before he disappeared, Wright was at the home of his ex-wife, Sherra Robinson Wright. She later told police that she believed Wright was carrying a large amount of cash at the time of his disappearance.

According to ESPN, a police dispatcher in the Memphis suburb Germantown received a call from Lorenzen's cell phone on July 19. Dispatchers acknowledged they heard noises like gunshots before the call was dropped. "They said they found the murder weapon". They didn't send a patrol officer or relay the information to Memphis police until days later.

A few days after that, Wright's mother filed a missing-persons report. When Wright was found, the former athlete had two gunshot wounds in his head, two bullets in his chest and bullet fragments in his forearm.
