Football fans everywhere have been praying for Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier ever since his horrifying back injury during their game against the Bengals on Monday Night Football on December 4.

The Steelers did not give updates on his status, aside from saying it was a back injury. "I can't imagine what they're going through".

"From my perspective, obviously it was a tough evening", he said. "People like him and care about him so you never want to see anything like that happen to anybody".

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac noted on Saturday it's uncommon for a Steelers player to be active for a game after missing the final two practices before kickoff, however he also added Brown's importance to the offense may make him "an exception to this rule". The linebacker was initially taken to the locker room for a back injury evaluation before being transported by ambulance to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Shazier was put on a backboard and put on a cart, then he was taken off the field.

The ESPN broadcast on Monday Night Football noted that Shazier didn't move his legs after the hit.
