IOS 11.2.5 Beta 1 Released

It's a serious threat to security, which is why Apple immediately issued a server side fix that didn't require an update. The new update also resolves some of the issues from the major update in iOS 11.2 which was released a couple of weeks ago.

Apple releases iOS 11.2.1 update for iPhone and iPad. Apple's tvOS update also comes with a fix for the same.

The iOS 11.2.1 software update restores remote access in HomeKit for shared users which was temporarily disabled last week due to a vulnerability. Following the latest software update, HomeKit vulnerability is patched and users can now restore the functionality by updating their iOS devices. The iOS 11.2 rectifies the bug and again enables remote access for the shared users of the Home app. HomeKit was made vulnerable for hackers last week.

Apple's latest iOS 11 has been one of the buggiest updates to hit the iPhone and iPad.

As this is the first beta of iOS 11.2.5 we are not expecting to see the final version of the software any time soon, it could land later this month, although the update is more likely going to land some time in early January. It's recommended to download the OTA update over Wi-Fi. The update is available for iPhone 5s and later, iPad Air and later and iPod touch 6th generation. Users should back up data before downloading the update.

Within hours of installing the new update, the Apple Support Twitter account was inundated with complaints about the atrocious battery life. Additionally, Apple is also rolling out tvOS 11.2.1, which features a related fix.

According to iDrop News, the iOS 11.2 glitch allows users to remove the iMessage app linked to Apple Pay Cash.
