Bengaluru: Fire in resto-bar Kailash Bar kills five

The fire started at Kailash Bar and Restaurant, which is located on the ground floor of Kumbara Sangha building in the Kalasipalayam area at around 2:30 am, said the police. The bar was nearly completely charred before the fire was brought under control in the early hours of Monday.

The fire that broke out in a Bengaluru restaurant Kailash Bar has killed five people.

Reports suggest that out of the five victims, three of the deceased were in their early twenties. They have been identified as Swami (23), Prasad (20), Mahesh, Manjunath (45) and Keerthi (24).

"Though the cause of the fire is unknown and is being investigated, a short circuit appears to have set the blaze", said Anucheth. After the matter was reported, 2 fire tenders, one rescue vehicle rushed to the spot and contained the brewing blaze. The bodies have been sent to the Victoria Hospital for post-mortem.
