BlackBerry teases KEYOne successor and mystery new phone for 2018 launch

- It wasn't that long ago that the BlackBerry brand seemed stagnant, but devices like the KEYone and the more recent Motion seem to have gotten some people feeling the faith once more. Starting January 12th, you'll be able to order the Snapdragon 625-powered Motion from Amazon or Best Buy here in America for $449.

Last year's BlackBerry KEYone, which launched at MWC 2017, was an attempt to merge BlackBerry's security and enterprise strengths with the flexibility and popularity of Android. BlackBerry KEYone Bronze Edition will feature dual-SIM support and matte bronze finish.

Like the Black Edition of the keyboard-toting handset, the Bronze Edition comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, up from the 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage on the standard KeyOne.

BlackBerry, under the ownership of TCL Communications, has announced at CES 2018 that there will be "at least two new BlackBerry smartphones this year".

"It has been less than one year since we formally introduced the world to our all-new BlackBerry smartphones and we've seen very strong renewed interest thanks to devices like BlackBerry KEYone and BlackBerry Motion", said Alain Lejeune, Global General Manager for BlackBerry Mobile.

TCL's also bringing the previously launched BlackBerry Motion to United States shores and pricing it at $449.99.

While TCL has refrained from indicating what devices we may see in 2018, users can expect numerous software updates, including a focus to bring Android 8.0 Oreo to BlackBerry devices.
