At CES overnight, Sony has announced three new phones at their media conference with the rumoured Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra and L2 now official. Today Sony revealed the Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2, and though they all have varying internals and features, one thing that's true across all three is their focus on providing top notch selfies. It comes with the same 8 megapixel selfie camera that the XA2 has, and will run on Android Nougat. "We're targeting 2018 as a breakthrough year, and look forward to showcasing further innovations across the entire Xperia portfolio over the coming months", Hideyuki Furumi, EVP of Sony's global sales & marketing, said in a statement.

While there are a lot of similarities, there are a fair few differences too.

The Sony Xperia XA2 is the successor of the previous year launched Xperia XA and comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display with 1080x1920 pixel resolution and Sony's Image Enhance technology.

When we jump over to look at the L2, we again see numerous same features, only pared back a bit.

Under the hood, it runs on a Snapdragon 630 processor and powering the device is a larger 3,580mAh battery.

Meanwhile the 8MP camera boasts a 120 degree field of view, allowing you to pack in a whole group of people for a selfie. Quick Charge is supported by both new phones, for a nippy recharge.

The Sony Xperia L2 is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM. The standard Xperia XA2 has a 5.2-inch screen, so should prove relatively simple to use with one hand. All phones have USB Type-C port for charging, "loop surface" design, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and 3.5mm headphone jack.

Lastly, the company also introduced an entry level Sony Xperia L2 along with the above-mentioned smartphones.

Lastly, the Xperia L2 is the baby of the bunch. While the XA1 and XA1 Ultra came with small sub 3,000mAh batteries, the XA2 and XA2 Ultra are equipped with much bigger power packs - 3,300mAh and 3,580mAh respectively. With the other two arriving as the latest additions to the Xperia XA line, the Xperia XA2 and the XA2 Ultra.

While it's packaged along with a 23MP rear camera, the same megapixel account as its predecessor, Sony is stressing the phone's performance under low light thanks to its higher ISO sensitivity of 12800. Sony Xperia XA2 comes in silver, black, blue and pink, while the Xperia XA2 Ultra replaces to pink with gold and the Xperia L2 offers black, gold and pink hues.

The Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra boasts a familiar Sony design, which isn't the most exciting out there, but it is at least functional.

Equipped with a Snapdragon 630 chip and 3GB of RAM, the device also comes with 32 GB of internal storage which is expandable to 256 GB with a microSD card providing adequate storage for high-resolution photos and videos.
