The website examines upcoming WhatsApp updates. This new feature is now available on Android devices with Android 6.0 and above.

According to a report in the Independent, if you are in the middle of a WhatsApp voice call and want to switch to a video call, you just need to tap that button to make the switch. Prior to this, users had to cut the call to switch from a voice call to a video call. The transition will be extremely seamless and it is no longer required to disconnect the call so as to switch to another form of communication. So, to switch between calls, all you need to do is to click on that button. But, WhatsApp quick switch feature isn't yet available for the group calls. For this a separate button is going to be appear on screen to switch to the video call.

In the company's announcement for Live Location tracking, it included a graphic that clearly shows the symbols for voice call and video call inside a group conversation. The feature is now available for WhatsApp beta for Android and we can definitely expect the feature to debut soon for all Android users around the world. Note: the recipient can either accept or reject the request, depending on their wish. Additionally, any incoming call would interrupt and abandon the voice recording process, this bottleneck also seems to be solved now.

If the user does not want to switch to the video call, he can reject the request of the video call. While features tested on beta mode do not necessarily make it to an official release, but can surely be looked forward to. The feature is available in the latest beta version of the app with the version number 2.18.4. We are not sure if the iOS users will get upgraded to the feature anytime soon or not.
