Freezing rain possible for Timmins and area

Enjoy the mild temperatures while they last. "Rain changing to snow tonight with a hard freeze".

At 5:02 a.m. today (January 10), Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for the area, stretching from Kirkland Lake to Temagami.

The weather agency warns that "mild and rainy conditions are expected over much of southern Ontario today, tonight and into Friday".

The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority said the rainfall could push up water levels in rivers and ponds and advised people to keep their distance during this time.

Environment Canada says that rain is expected to become more widespread tonight and into Friday. Environment Canada said it will monitor this situation closely.
