A new report in the Los Angeles Times includes allegations from five women that actor James Franco engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior.

Franco was scheduled to appear at a talk held by the New York Times later today with his brother Dave, who also stars in his movie The Disaster Artist, but the event has since been cancelled. He denied all allegations against him but acknowledged the rights of the women to speak out.

Franco has denied allegations made by multiple women, five of whom spoke with The Los Angeles Times in an article published Thursday.

Sarah Tither-Kaplan, one of those four, has said that she was shooting a nude orgy scene with Franco and other actresses, when he took off the protective plastic guard that protects genitalia when simulating oral sex. Afterwards, Franco was "visibly angry" when no one volunteered. "There was a culture of exploiting non-celebrity women", she said. "Ive heard about them", Franco said when asked about his response to the claims on Colberts chat show.

Franco, 39, was asked to comment on the accusations in an appearance on Stephen Colbert's The Late Show. I haven't responded. I think, well the ones I read were not accurate, but one of the things that I've learned is that this is a conversation that obviously needs to be had.

Two other women recalled being subjected to bad on-set experiences.

"I truly believe, and why I was wearing the pin, is that they [women and others] need to be part of this conversation", Franco said of why he wore a Time's Up pin to the Golden Globes. Meyers then pressed Franco on why he hadn't reached out to Sheedy "as someone that you've had a good relationship with before to try to understand why she would have done that?"

Studio 4 is now shuttered, but its website did say that Franco "cast roles directly from his classes, and will involve his students in a variety of his film and art projects".

"I'm here to listen and learn and change my perspective where it's off, and I'm completely willing and want to".

On Sunday, Franco won the Golden Globes award for best actor in a feature comedy for his portrayal of the eccentric director Tommy Wiseau in "The Disaster Artist".

"I got it in my head pretty quickly that, OK, you don't say "no" to this guy", she said.

"I'm embarrassed, and I guess I'm just a model of how social media is tricky", Franco said.

"The others, look, in my life I pride myself on taking responsibility for things that I've done".
