In an interview with CNET, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said that the smartphone manufacturer will start talks with USA carriers within the year. Other than that, he did not mention the others specs that the phone will come with but we expect it to go against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S9 phones, as they will also come with the 845 chips. Making a deal with one or more US carriers will give OnePlus access to millions of potential new customers. Although the company hasn't confirmed the name yet, but the OnePlus 6 seems to be more possible and was earlier confirmed by a Snapdragon 845 SoC leak too. It stated that OnePlus would be debuting the OnePlus 6 smartphone in June this year.

In the United States, smartphones come bundled with carriers and the sales have seen a significant rise over the past few years. Well, owing to popular demand, the Face Unlock feature has been rolled out to the OnePlus 5 through OxygenOS Open Beta 3 update, and now, it has been confirmed for OnePlus 3 and 3T as well.

Peter Lau did not confirm whether OnePlus will release a second device by the end of the year, if they do it will probably be the OnePlus 6T following on from the same pattern as the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. The CEO also pointed out that the OnePlus 5T is now the company's fastest and best-selling product. CNET quotes Lau as saying, "If the right opportunity and right timing come along, we'll be very happy to experiment". Since this is still a speculation, we'll have to wait for any kind of official confirmation. This time frame follows the company's regular schedule for device releases and in line with the arrival of the OnePlus 5 a year ago. If manages to partner with carriers, it will be a huge boost for the Chinese company, especially considering what happened to the recent Huawei and AT&T deal.

In December 2017, the rumor mill had revealed the arrival time of Snapdragon 845 powered flagship phones from different brands this year.
