President Donald Trump says he has decided not to come to London to open the new U.S. Embassy, blaming the Obama administration for doing a "bad deal" to move the diplomatic mission.

President Trump said he has called off a planned ceremonial visit to Britain because he didn't want to be associated with what he called a bad real estate deal in which the U.S. Embassy is being relocated from central London to "an off location".

President Donald Trump has revealed the reason he is cancelling his trip to London and it is not in fear of mass protests that activists had threatened to take out if he lands in the British capital.

The US President was due to visit London next month to open the new American Embassy, which is situated on the banks of the River Thames.

Rex Tillerson, the USA secretary of state, is expected to attend the embassy's opening instead.

The president accepted Theresa May's invitation after she visited the United States following his inauguration, he's said to have expressed concerns over the plans with his advisors though.

Only last week Theresa May said Trump "will be coming to this country".

Ecuador Gives Assange Citizenship, Worsening Standoff With Britain
The UK's rejection of a diplomatic pass comes after Assange tweeted a cryptic picture of him dressed in the colours of Ecuador. Assange was also charged with sexual assault crimes in Sweden, but those charges were dropped in May 2017.

Downgraded to a working visit, Mr Trump would not be given the hour of meeting a Queen. London Mayor Sadiq Khan said Trump finally got the message that he was unwelcome in the U.K, which is why he canceled his visit.

However there've been reports that the trip may also have been cancelled because his team are anxious that it will be met with protests in the UK.

"President Trump got the message from the many Londoners who love and admire America and Americans but find his policies and action the polar opposite of our city's values", Khan said in a statement released on Twitter.

Earlier this week, Mr Johnson brushed off suggestions a state visit to Britain by Mr Trump should be scrapped.

Calls for a second European Union referendum, the tragic consequences of the winter flu virus and reported developments over Donald Trump's planned visit to Britain all make the front pages on Friday.

He added that the videos make it "increasingly clear that any official visit at all from President Trump to Britain would not be welcomed".
