Pakistan were bowled out for a record-low total in their ODI clash with New Zealand, and this embarrassing mishap summed it up perfectly.

If a result is achieved, a win would not only give them New Zealand the series but they would also equal their longest streak across all formats of 10 wins.

A 20-run partnership between captain Sarfraz Ahmed and Mohammad Amir took the score past the lowest-ever ODI total of 35, which Pakistan risked changing, and then past 43, which is Pakistan's lowest team total in ODI cricket. To add fuel to the fire, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson pulled off a fantastic one-handed catch to send Hasan Ali packing.

Chasing 258 to win, Trent Boult speared through Pakistan's top order, starting with the dismissal of Azhar Ali, who was caught by Taylor at first slip for a duck.

Incredibly, Pakistan were 2-3 when Boult got another delivery to move away, drawing an edge from Mohammad Hafeez (0). Matt Henry's 5 for 30, in Abu Dhabi in 2014-15, was the previous best.

The hosts were unable to build on a promising position as their search for quick runs failed, the Black Caps losing 48-7 to finish their innings. They were three wickets down with just two runs on the board and the match was effectively over.

"It was a great sign for them but it's important we learn from that as well and look to do that a little bit better". But I suppose the biggest learning curve as a fast bowler is making the change and being able to get wickets when the ball isn't swinging.
