Turan Joins Istanbul Basaksehir From Barcelona On Loan Deal

Gumusdag visited Barcelona earlier this week to meet Turan.

Turan joined Barca in 2015 from Atletico Madrid for €35 million in 2015 but he was not able to make his debut until January of the following year due to Barca's transfer ban.

The Turkish global failed to make a single appearance under Ernesto Valverde this season and was linked with a move to Arsenal.

The Barca man's former club Galatasaray were heavily linked with a bid for their one-time captain, with Arsenal also having been persistently touted as a possible destination for the experienced attacking midfielder/winger.

The LaLiga league leaders announced in a statement on Saturday that: "Barcelona have sent Turkish global Arda Turan to Istanbul Basaksehir on a two-and-a-half-year loan deal".

FC Barcelona confirmed on Saturday that they have reached a deal with Turkish side Basaksehir to loan them Turkish worldwide winger Arda Turan for the remainder of this season and for two more.

"FC Barcelona and Istanbul Basaksehir FK agree on a loan deal for the Turkish player for the remainder of the season and two more", Barcelona said on their official website.

However, the Spanish giants maintain an option to sell the veteran elsewhere during this spell, if an offer from another club is forthcoming.
