Bookmakers make Arsenal odds on to be Aubameyang's next club, should he move on with Coral pricing him at 4/6.

Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returned to training on Monday after he had been left out of the squad for Sunday's match against Wolfsburg following a missed team meeting.

The Gunners are preparing to sell Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United and also appear to be set to lose Mesut Ozil at the end of the season when his contract runs out.

Aubameyang has been consistently excellent in front of goal for Dortmund and Arsene Wenger will hope that the former Saint-Etienne man can be the catalyst for Arsenal bouncing back from their recent poor form.

Arsenal are "optimistic" of completing the £53m signing of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang according to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague. The Armenian global may be involved in part-exchange in any deal which takes Sanchez to United. Dortmund General Manager Michael Zorc described the striker's behaviour as "unrecognisable", stating that there is "trouble in the team", due to his behaviour. "I think the Alexis situation will be resolved beforehand, and when people realise the cost of Aubameyang, you wonder if many other clubs will go into the auction". I don't recognise him anymore. It's not necessary to talk about a transfer, but it's clear that things can't continue like this because some important things are in jeopardy, and that there is tension inside the squad'.

Aubameyang is understood to have met with Borussia's hierarchy on Sunday at the club's training ground.

Pochettino has come to accept that Edwards is at a stage of his development where he needs to experience regular senior football, and he decided a loan to the Championship was the ideal short-term solution.
