It was announced Monday morning that the Honda Accord was voted vehicle of the Year, the Volvo XC60 Utility of the Year, and the Lincoln Navigator Truck of the Year. The Honda Ridgeline was crowned truck of the year last year, and the Honda Civic won vehicle of the year in 2016.

Thanks to the Accord, Honda won awards for three years straight.

The Accord, which went on sale last fall, is among many revamped auto models hoping to snare buyers as sales fall and SUVs rise.

On the vehicle side, the all-new Accord beat out the Kia Stinger and Toyota Camry.

The 2018 Navigator got a more thorough update than its cousin, the Ford Expedition, resulting in a stronger impact on the Lincoln brand, jurors said.

JPMorgan Earnings Take Hit From Tax Changes, Drop in Trading
Bank of America Corp., which reports results next week, said last month that about 145,000 workers would get a $1,000 bonus. This number is based on a 1 to 5 scale where 1 indicates a Strong Buy recommendation while 5 represents a Strong Sell.

The Volvo XC60 took the top prize in the utility category and the Lincoln Navigator for trucks.

The brand sold only 10,523 Navigators past year, far behind competitors in the segment such as the Cadillac Escalade.

Now in their 24th year, the awards are unique because they are awarded a group of dozens of respected automotive journals instead of being given by a single publication, website, radio or television station.

The Utility Vehicle of the Year award was introduced in January 2017, with the Windsor-made Chrysler Pacifica being the first honouree in the new category's history.

Organizers accept no advertising, though automakers try to capitalize on the marketing value of the awards.
