The game is powered by the Luminous Engine, Square Enix's crown jewel that's being used to develop great open world experiences. Episode Gladiolus, Prompto, Ignis, and the multiplayer expansion, Comrades, will be included.

By purchasing Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition, you also gain access to all released Season Pass content. Titled, Insomnia City Ruins, the map will now feature new side quests and enemies including longtime series staples, Cerberus and Omega. The same body of water (between Cape Caem and Altissia) can now be freely explored. Players will also take on the Rulers of Yore along the way. "More than a dozen" slices of DLC make it into the Windows Edition too, and a new first-person camera mode will change how players view Eon entirely.

Square Enix has announced what is essentially a Game of the Year Edition for Final Fantasy XV, which adds a new first person mode.

There will also be a new accessory you can equip, and it can activate the new action "Armiger Unleashed".

When Final Fantasy XV released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One back in late 2016, it blew critics and audiences away with a attractive open world environment and action-packed combat that was a drastic departure from previous titles. The Royal Edition is real, and it's not simply collecting previous content into a new bundle. This ability appears to expand the Armiger options, allowing for powerful attacks while the Armiger is summoned.

It's 2018 and Final Fantasy XV still has the best boys in videogames.

So, what extra stuff do you get in the Royal Edition?

Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition will support 4K resoution and HDR 10 lighting, as well as mod support. The extras we mentioned earlier include weapons, Regalia auto skins and item sets for your team. If you already own the game already, you can get all the content from the new edition for $19.99.
