The chippiness from Monday night's Rockets-Clippers game at Staples Center carried over into a freaky locker-room incident between Rockets and Clippers players. Griffin and Trevor Ariza exchanged unpleasantries, before both were ejected from the game.

Lou Williams scored 31 points, Blake Griffin added 29 before his ejection, and the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Houston Rockets 113-102 on Monday night in Chris Paul's heated return to Staples Center against his old team.

"We were where we were supposed to be", Griffin said.

Before the game, after Paul had talked to a group of fans in the stands, he hugged Jordan and Clippers assistant coach Sam Cassell at midcourt.

Rockets forward Luc Mbah a Moute (shoulder) is a game-time decision for Monday, while center Zhou Qi (elbow) and forward/center Tarik Black (eye) are day-to-day.

During the postgame media sessions, when asked about the incident on two separate occasions, D'Antoni replied, "You mean after he hit me?"

Time is running out though as the Clippers recently proposed a blockbuster deal to the Minnesota Timberwolves involving Griffin and center Karl-Anthony Towns. The away team were reported calling out Rivers and Griffin, but security managed to escort the Rockets out before anything escalated. "I didn't appreciate it", D'Antoni said.

D'Antoni might not want to get into it, but players and coaches typically don't get into altercations with each other.
