"All clinical data indicates that the President is now very healthy, and that he will remain so for the duration of his presidency. the President's overall health is excellent", said Navy Rear Adm. Dr. Ronny Jackson.

"It's called genetics", said Jackson.

Questions have been raised about Trump's mental health for a while but got fresh impetus from a recently released tell-all book about his White House tenure that drew a picture of him repeating himself and unable to grasp issues.

"Trump did not receive a psychiatric exam, and therefore no one can rule out non-physiological mental-health issues (e.g., narcissistic personality disorder, paranoia)", she wrote.

As a result, the president can boast a reasonable 122/74 blood pressure and solid circulatory and respiratory health, Jackson said.

"I've seen him every day", Jackson said.

Trump is now taking several types of daily medication, Jackson wrote, including aspirin; Rosuvastatin to lower cholesterol; Finasteride to aid in the prevention of male pattern hair loss; Ivermectin to treat rosaccea when needed; and a multivitamin product.

"The president's overall health is excellent".

Dr Jackson said: "He's more enthusiastic about the diet part than the exercise part, but we're going to do both". Jackson said Trump has avoided some big heart risks _ he's never smoked and isn't diabetic - and has no family history of heart problems.

The highest score possible is 30 points. Holy cow, can we enter him into the next Olympics??

Dr Jackson said he would increase that dose in an effort to get Mr Trump's so-called "bad" cholesterol, or LDL level, below 120; it now is 143.

Public-health experts have known for years that BMI isn't a ideal tool for measuring physical fitness and that an improved metric would incorporate waist circumference.

That said, he has made roughly 80 trips to golf courses during his first year in office, according to ABC News' count, though he is known to make regular use of a golf cart rather than walk the courses.

Because the President doesn't smoke or drink and "appears to have good genes", according to Jackson, he has been able to avoid the classic symptoms of heart disease.

"There's no indication whatsoever that he has any cognitive issues", Jackson told reporters at a White House news briefing.

The doctor also said he would also design a daily exercise program for Mr Trump, recommending a low-impact exercise routine like a stationary bike.

"I would say he sleeps four to five hours a night, and he's probably been that way his whole life".

The doctor told reporters Trump scored 30 out of 30 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, which according to its website is a "cognitive screening test created to assist Health Professionals in the detection of mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease".
