Lucas, 25, has played just 78 minutes of Ligue 1 football this season, struggling to cement a place in the team ahead of summer signings Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

The 25-year-old's agents were expected to meet with Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, while Real Betis are believed to have submitted a club-record offer worth an initial €30m that also includes €12m worth of add-ons.

He made it clear before the winter transfer window that he was ready to face a new challenge away from PSG.

Since the start of the January transfer window, Moura has been linked with clubs from the Premier League and La Liga, with Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Valencia all said to hold a level of interest in the Brazilian worldwide.

The Gunners are also keen to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is tipped to join them from Borussia Dortmund.

But, with the chances of that happening slim, Spurs are targeting Lucas as an alternative for his fellow Brazilian winger.

A report from the Telegraph goes onto claim that Spurs have already held talks with the player and had arranged a visit to their training ground for the player, which has left a strong impression on the Brazilian.

Moura has 36 caps and four goals for Brazil, while U23 star Malcom has yet to make a senior global appearance.

It could well be that Lucas is the breakaway star that Tottenham thought they were signing in Moussa Sissoko back in 2016.
