New data shows 136 Hoosiers have died from flu this season

State health officials say the number of flu-related deaths in IN this season reached 136 last week, up from 107 the previous week.

One of every 14 visits to doctors and clinics were for symptoms of the flu.

The state Department of Public Health released a weekly update on flu statistics Thursday reporting that the disease continues to be widespread in the state.

The CDC official also said it was not too late to get a flu vaccine.

Canada's flu season so far has been milder with more of a mix of strains.
