Girl Scout sells 300 boxes of cookies outside San Diego marijuana dispensary A young San Diego girl has found a novel way of bolstering sales of her Girl Scout Cookies - selling them outside a local marijuana dispensary. "Girl Scouts are all over campus selling cookies".

Instead, the Girl Scouts did what they always do.

This wouldn't be the first time such a thing has happened as a Girl Scout in Colorado sold 100 boxes in two hours standing outside a San Francisco dispensary.

"I wanted to do something that was helping out local organizations, something that most people haven't thought of doing", said VanNosdall, who was a Girl Scout herself for many years.

However, funding the program is not the only goal of selling the cookies.

The Badgerland Council will be selling cookies until March 11. "At the high school level, many of us are working towards our Gold Award, which involves individuals creating and completing community projects that are long-term and impactful", said Ana Alvarez-Rutz, an eighth-year Girl Scout.

Today, there are 2.6 million Girl Scouts, all working to learn and to pass on the important skills of business, finance, and communication, to future generations.

"When you support Girl Scouts, you're getting so much more than a box of cookies", said Badgerland CEO Marci Henderson.

"The amusing thing is, after the news story ran, we had more Girl Scouts show up over the weekend", Rakofsky said.
